Another Still life....

Here's another still life I started a while back and pretty much finished up this week.  Skulls are hard.  Seriously!!  One of the hardest things I've ever had to paint!  I have this stretched currently in a 24 x 24 inch format.  I'm going to change it to this I think.  I'm happier with this crop I guess.  The glare is so hard to photograph too!  If anyone has any tricks to getting rid of the glare on dark paintings, I would love to hear it.

    Votre dernière peinture est aussi très jolie avec ce ciel qui donne une immensité à votre paysage.

    Both are very nice and have completely different moods. I also likd thd long vertical format if your landscape.

    Those are both beautiful! And your skull is so delicate.

    Re. glare, I use a scanner, which solves the problem. For bigger paintings I scan in pieces & stitch it together with a graphics program (which I really try to avoid having to do). Other than that, photographing it outdoors on a cloudy day, with a nice camera on a tripod. :^)

    Love the skull painting so unusual and brilliant.
    Yes glare is a problem, I photograph paintings with dark back grounds where there is no direct light source also moving back as far as possible and zoom in on the painting helps too. Also when photo-shopping it a lot can be done with gamma adjust.

    Hi Kimberly, Thank you for posting on my blog. It has been a long time since I posted. Anyway, re dark paint/glare, I always use daylight/shade when photographing, and then manipulate the picture. Loving your bird on the skull! :)
