I'm full of big ideas. Implementing them...well, that's something else. I've gotten better about it, mostly because I started breaking things down into smaller steps, just like you would a painting. You get the idea, your sort of abstractly "block it in", then you put the finishing touches/details. I've started keeping a notebook where I can just scribble down ideas and leave them there until I want to pursue them more. Especially for my business. If I don't jot things down I tend to forget them and by doing this, I can go back to my little 49 cent notebook and review what was on my mind maybe weeks ago. Sometimes I follow thru with them and sometimes, after a little bit of time has passed, I realize I should let some go. It works for me!

Missing the warm beach...
Cold front just came thru there and I'm COLD!!! Ok, I should quit complaining, I hear there's snow up north. I'm just missing the beach.
I had an interview at one of the arts organizations here locally and I would really love to get the job. Those jobs are pretty competitive though. Feel free to send some prayers and good luck my way!!!

Paying attention to business...
Well, I got a good lesson yesterday from a friend of mine regarding my business records. I guess my "animal, vegetable, mineral" system isn't really the best way to run things. At least I keep all of my receipts in one shoebox! LOL! Ok, so what am I trying to say? If you need help with something, it's best to just ask and get it! I had no idea what kind of records I needed to keep and I've probably been losing tax money over the last several years. Needless to say, I'll be doing things a bit different now. Ironically, none of it's that hard, I just had no idea where to start.

Writing in sand...
I read something really cool today in Professional Artist magazine. Jack White often has articles in there and in the May issue he discusses forgiving and forgetting. He said "Learn to write your hurts in dry sand on a windy day and chisel the good things that happen in granite so you never forget them." I just loved that and think we could all benefit by doing this. Just thought I would share it.

Painting feels good!!!
I'm still settling in at my new place, but it's been fun to paint here. I love Florida, but I'm a bit cramped there during the winter. (Totally worth it by the way! LOL!). It's really fun to be able to work larger which I am today. I loved pulling out a huge pre-stretched canvas to start blocking in a studio painting.

Rough week...
Well I got a bit of food poisoning this week. Bad watermelon. For those of you who've been thru this before, you know what I went through! I've survived and now am a few pounds lighter and glad to be feeling better.
On a better note, today was opening day in Cincinnati for baseball. Go Reds!!
